Sponsor IDRA’s National Convening

The Indigent Defense Research Association (IDRA) is seeking a sponsor for our 2026 gathering, held in conjunction with the American Society of Criminology (ASC) Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois, November 18–21.

For the past 12 years, IDRA members have convened a "conference within a conference" alongside the ASC Annual Meeting. While many participants also attend ASC's trainings and sessions, IDRA hosts its own independent program, bringing together public defense researchers, practitioners, and advocates for presentations and discussion focused on indigent defense research. Although scheduled to coincide with the ASC Annual Meeting, the IDRA gathering is an independent event and is not affiliated with or sponsored by the American Society of Criminology.

As an all-volunteer organization, IDRA is seeking a sponsor to host either a catered lunch or an evening happy hour reception during this in-person event.

In exchange for the sponsorship, we are pleased to offer the following exclusive visibility during our scheduled gathering:

  • Distribution of a promotional handout or literature to be attached to the IDRA-specific agenda.

  • Sponsor recognition limited strictly to our scheduled meeting, including physical signage at the venue, a listing on our event agenda, and a verbal thank-you.

Depending on the format you choose to host, the event must align with the following logistical boundaries:

  • If sponsoring a lunch: the food and beverages must be delivered directly to our designated meeting space of the national convening.

  • If sponsoring a happy hour: the chosen venue or venue space must be located within close walking distance of the national convening meeting space.

To maintain compliance with the American Society of Criminology guidelines, this arrangement is subject to the following explicit conditions:

  • No ASC Endorsement: This sponsorship is strictly limited to the IDRA meeting and does not imply endorsement, affiliation, or partnership by or with the ASC.

  • Name & Logo Restrictions: The ASC name or logo must not be used in any of your promotional or marketing materials without prior written approval from the ASC.

  • Activity Alignments: The timing and nature of the sponsorship must not conflict with any existing ASC sponsors or official meeting activities.

We would love to partner with you to support the indigent defense research community this November. Please let us know if you are interested in discussing this opportunity further by emailing team@indigentdefenseresearch.org.
